A Rosy Sunrise in the Frozen Forest

The steps leading into Starved Rock State Park in Illinois at sunrise.
The air was frigid and the ground totally blanketed in snow, but the scenery was all the more spectacular for it. A clear night meant the Earth's heat was irradiated away overnight, but it also meant a beautiful sunrise. Rosy hues of dawn colored the sky and I snapped off a few shots on the walkway down into the canyons of Starved Rock State Park.
