Shot of the Emirates Towers from under the Gate building at DIFC

I was just doing one last scan through my shots from my shoot at DIFC and can't believe I missed this one.

The previous Under the Gate post was shot looking straight up at the gate. This is the view facing towards the "old" part of Dubai (away from the Burj Khalifa). I had a black & white HDR in mind when shooting it. However whilst processing it I kept coming back to the colour one so have stuck with it. This is an 8 exposure HDR which has been a real project today. Unfortunately it was shot around lunch time in the heart of the financial centre of Dubai. As the foot traffic was increasing I set up my tripod in a hurry to limit the number of people in the frame. Also, as I was there with about 15 other photographers who were on the same Landscape course taken by David Nightingale , so there were a queue of them trying to shoot the same scene and they kept getting in the way. One of them actually leant over the water and got wet and as a result spilt water on the floor which I couldn't avoid in my shot. As a result after tone-mapping the image in Photomatix Pro, I spent a considerable amount of time in Photoshop cloning out the people and water. After this, I leveled it, added the sharpness using Topaz Details and then made several masked curves adjustments to finish it off. If you are interested in seeing the original shot I have posted it here.

Oh, and for those of you who asked about by damaged camera and lens from my desert shoot , Nikon fixed the D300, however they said the lens was beyond reasonable repair so I just ordered a replacement. I'm now taking a break from architectural shots for while now...
