Grizzled
The battle of New Bern, NC was fought in March of 1862. Union soldiers under the direction of Brigadier General Ambrose E. Burnside steamed up the Neuse River and, along with infantry, captured New Bern from the Confederacy. New Bern, a strategic location due to its Atlantic & North Carolina railroad line, stayed in Union hands until the end of the Civil War (an oxymoron if I've ever heard one.)
